Quick start: set up ExpiryEdge in 7 steps

The seven things to do on day one, in order. The full guide with screenshots is at expiryedge.com/guides/getting-started.

What is it
A short checklist for new accounts. When you finish it, your deadlines are in, the right people get reminded, and you have seen a reminder arrive.
Why / when to use it
  • New accounts start with 3 sample items, 10 expiry types and a short reminder schedule (5 days before, 1 day before and on the day). You get the reminders until you add other people.
  • Two things catch people out: the reminder schedule only applies to items you add after you save it, and assigning an item to someone does not send them reminders.
Steps
  • Check your timezone. Go to Admin › Settings and open the Organization tab. The timezone decides when reminders go out.
  • Choose when reminders go out. Reminders › Reminder defaults › When to send. A good start is 60, 30, 14 and 7 days before, plus 1 day after. Do this before you import.
  • Choose who gets reminded. Same page, Who to notify tab. Click the arrow next to a person, pick email, SMS or WhatsApp, then Save.
  • Add your first expiry. Dashboard › New expiry. Only Name, Type and Expiry Date are required.
  • Bring in everything else. Import › Bulk Import for a spreadsheet, AI Document Scanner for PDFs or photos.
  • Invite your team. Admin › Users › Invite User. Then add them to reminders in step 3.
  • Check that reminders arrive. Reminders › Test Reminder, then look at Upcoming Reminders.
