How to attach files, a directory entry, or a workflow to an expiry
Add supporting documents, a linked vendor/contact record, or an automated checklist to an expiry.
What is it
Expiries can carry three kinds of context beyond their own fields: file attachments (the actual contract/certificate/policy document), a Directory link (the vendor, person, or entity the expiry relates to), and a Workflow (a checklist of tasks that runs around the expiry's date).
Why / when to use it
Steps- Attach files so the proof/document lives right next to the deadline it belongs to, instead of in a separate drive someone has to go find.
- Link a Directory entry when you need contact details or context on who's involved - e.g. who to call at the vendor when a contract is expiring.
- Attach a Workflow when completing the deadline isn't a single action but a multi-step process (e.g. "gather documents → get sign-off → submit renewal → confirm receipt") that you want tracked and, optionally, auto-triggered.
- Open the expiry you want to add context to, and click Edit.
- Under Attachments, drag in files or click to browse - multiple files are supported, each shown with its file name.
- Under Directory, click Attach Directory Entry to search for and link a vendor, contact, or other entity - its contact details and notes will show alongside the expiry.
- Under Workflow, click Attach Workflow to pick an existing workflow and a trigger (Before Expiry, On Expiry Date, After Expiry, On Done, On Renewal, or Manual).
- Click Save. You can remove any attachment later the same way you added it.
